5 Minutes Mat Check in

Getting going again after challenging life waves…When life pulls the rug out from under you its hard to stay balanced on our life surf boards.

Having a Daily movement practice has usually been my easy button, however as some of you know Life can throw us some Challenging Waves…and Divorce was a HUGE for me.

Here I was unable to get on my yoga mat, mostly because the tears would flow and it felt so overwhelming that I avoided my mat.

I knew how supportive this space to move and feel into my body had always been for me so eventually I made my way back with the support of a friend/teacher that said what if you start with 5 minutes, does that feel supportive?

ok I thought, I can do that…and yes the tears flowed, and honestly it’s the movement my body needed to cleans the emotional pain from my body. One thing I’ve learned about emotions is they can get trapped in the body, as they they are E-Motions and need Motion to Move and flow out.

Eventually 5 Minutes grew overtime, and to this day if life gets challenging (as it does) and I find myself off my mat…I always know I can RESTART with just 5 minutes..
